Mbotwe (also rendered Mbotwae) is repeatedly linked to a cello, the perimeter and occasional appearances at major Whapperton events. In Thacker D.C. he is introduced by the sound of a cello and characterised as a signal; later accounts place him on the perimeter and retain the instrument.
